Practitioners of psychosynthesis believe individuals tend to synthesize various aspects of the self to become more evolved and self-actualized.
This method of therapy can be viewed as a transpersonal approach because it integrates many aspects of the human experience, including spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and physical aspects.
Psychosynthesis was developed by Italian psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli in the early 1900s.
Assagioli was interested in psychoanalysis and among the first to bring Freud’s theories to Italy. She is currently resident in the Findhorn community where she is a director at Ecologia together with CEO Liza Hollingshead.Psychosynthesis is a therapeutic approach that focuses on personal growth and development. We believe that the benefits of holistic learning should be available to everyone regardless of their financial or life situation, and that the transformational journey is enriched by a diversity of participants. We recognise that what is affordable for some can be a financial stretch for others and offer a tiered pricing structure.Diana Whitmore, founder/co-chair of the Psychosynthesis and Education trust in London and founder/CEO of Teens and Toddlers UK.Diana was a Trustee of Findhorn Foundation for 19 years. Some facilities, like our saunas and hot tub, ask for a donation for use.* * * Before you book your place, please take a moment to consider that the Findhorn Foundation is a Charitable Trust. However, Assagioli felt Freud neglected some important aspects of the human experience and advocated for a more inclusive, holistic perspective on humanity. The creation of psychosynthesis was influenced by Assagioli’s interest in yoga, philosophy, theology, and the work of Carl Jung.
