On 11 December 2018, the Embassy of Romania organized the awarding ceremony for the first edition of the Maria Lupu-Radvilienė Essay Competition in Kėdainiai, at the Gymnasium Illustrae.

The contest is organized in the memory of Maria Lupu, the daughter of the Moldavian ruler Vasile Lupu, married in 1645 with the Lithuanian prince Jonušas Radvila.

During the visit, the Ambassador of Romania had a meeting with Kėdainiai Mayor, Mr.

Saulius Grinkevičius, where they discussed the prospect of signing a cooperation agreement between Kėdainiai and Fălticeni early next year, during a visit of a Romanian delegation to Lithuania (14-15 February 2019).
